Testing

Every batch we sell is tested by an independent third-party lab. Here's what that testing looks for and why it matters.

What we test for

• Potency — confirms the botanical actives are present at the amount on the label.
• Heavy metals — lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury, which plants can take up from soil.
• Microbials — yeast, mold and harmful bacteria such as E. coli and Salmonella.
• Pesticides — agricultural chemical residue.

Reading a lab report

A certificate of analysis (COA) lists the lab, the test date and a result for each test. Check that the batch or lot number matches your product and that each result is marked as passing.
